What modern movie, sent back in time, would be the most convroversial and incendiary in the Hays-Code era?
Meaning mainstream-ish movies at the times of their releases. Assuming you were somehow exempted from the titular regulations and got the film shown anyways, what post-code movie would have been both scandalising (both for code violations and for wider transgressions against the eras prevailing mores), but also actually *good* enough, or at least technicaly interesting enough, to make them unable to just reject it? What post-code movie would divide the audiences and blow their minds the most?
Since the code was being ignored-in-practice by the 60s' think more about the earlier sections of the era.
