✅ Are you writing from the perspective of a child who had (or has) sibling rivalry, or from the perspective of a parewnt watching your kids experience it? 👉 Perspective I am writing from the perspective of a child who experienced sibling rivalry. Me and my siblings were close growing up, but we were also competitive sometimes. We argued over attention, small things at home, and who was "better" at certain things. Even with misunderstandings, we still cared for each other deeply.
✅ What's your earliest memory (or your child's most common pattern) involving rivalry or strong comparison in the family? 👉 Earliest Memory One of my earliest memories of rivalry was comparing achievements and attention. Sometimes I felt hurt whenever one of us was praised more than the other. Small things like grades, responsibilities, or even simple compliments could suddenly feel like a competition instead of support.
✅ Is there still rivalry or comparison, happening now and how does it feel? 👉 Now that we're old, the rivalry feels less intense and more mature. Instead of co
mpeting, we try to understand each other better and respect our different strengths
✅ What positive things did (or might) this rivalry teach you or your children about themselves? 👉 Positive Things It Taught Me This experience taught me how to handle jealousy, communicate better and become more understanding of other people 's feelings. It also taught me that everyone grows differently and that love inside a family should never feel like a contest.
✅ What's one thing you wish could be different about how this rivalry shows up? 👉 One thing I Wish Was Different I wish there had been less comparison between siblings. I think children healthier when they feel appreciated or who they are individually, instead of always being measured against someone else.
✅ If you could talk to your younger self or your younger children during a tough rivalry moment, what would you say to them? 👉 What I Would Say to My Younger Self! " I know you feel unseen sometimes, but you do not need to prove to prove your worth. Your value is not smaller just because someone else shines too. There is room for both of you to grow, succeed, and beloved equally.
