Outdoor light fixture replacement

Hello,

I replaced my outdoor light fixtures and saw that there is no ground wire. I connected the hot and neutral wires and the light seems to work fine. My question is what to do with the bare wire from the fixture that is suppose to be connected to the ground wire. Is it ok to leave as is within the fixture? Thanks for any input!
