Upper Peninsula Midges
Has anyone in here stayed in the upper peninsula by any of the Great Lakes recently? I’m going camping next week along the Lake Superior shore line, I’ll pretty much be hitting 3 different camp sites during the entire trip from Lake Superior State campground all the way to Copper Harbor.
I went last year to Hog Island which is on the Lake Michigan shore and my god were they awful. The night before when we got there, it was nothing but by 9 in the morning it was like straight out of a cartoon. I left my tent open for about 3 minutes and it was completely filled with them. Has anyone here been there recently and can tell me if they were swarming?
Does anyone have any approaches how to deal with them? Bug spray didn’t seem to work last year
