First time watching the MCU thoughts so far

What’s up everyone. I’m pretty new to the MCU community and honestly just wanted to share my experience so far.

I started watching the MCU for the first time around November, and I’ve been going through everything in release order. I’m currently halfway through Doctor Strange, and man… I get it now.

Phase 1 was solid and did a great job introducing the characters, but once I hit Winter Soldier, it felt like the entire MCU leveled up. From there it’s just been straight momentum:

•Winter Soldier – absolutely elite storytelling

•Age of Ultron – way deeper than I expected, especially thematically

•Ant-Man – surprisingly heartfelt and grounded

•Civil War – genuinely blew me away. Easily one of my favorite movies I’ve watched so far. The Cap vs Tony conflict felt real, emotional, and earned. No clear “bad guy,” just principles clashing.

What really stands out to me is how Marvel treats its supporting characters. Hawkeye, Bucky, Falcon, Wanda, Ant-Man, etc. all feel just as important as the main leads. It makes the universe feel alive, not just centered on a few heroes.

I’m not even finished yet, and I can already say this has been an incredible experience watching everything fresh for the first time. The movies genuinely keep getting better, more complex, and more emotionally grounded as they go.

Looking forward to finishing Phase 3 and diving deeper into the community here.

Did Civil War lock you into Team Cap or Team Iron Man, or did your stance change over time?
