🗣️ Community feedback wanted

We’ve noticed a situation where two separate sponsored #earn activities,  Tangled Steps and #HealthySteps , are similar enough that participants can essentially copy and paste the same submission into both and receive rewards twice for the same effort.

We’re not looking to point fingers at participants or hosts. In many cases, if the activity rules allow it, people are simply participating within those rules. At the same time, sponsors activities to encourage original participation, creativity, and engagement , and we want to make sure that sponsorship isn’t being unintentionally taken advantage of.

A lot of the responsibility should naturally fall on activity hosts to make their activities distinct and establish clear rules - but we’d also like to hear from the community.

💭 What do you think is the fairest way to handle overlapping activities?
Should:
• Sponsored activities be required to have clearly different participation requirements?
• The same submission only qualify for one -sponsored activity?
• Hosts be responsible for checking for duplicate submissions?
• Or is there another solution you think would work better?

We want sponsorships to remain fun, fair, and worthwhile for both hosts and participants, so we’d genuinely like your feedback before deciding how situations like this should be handled going forward.

My point is that I wanted people to get more than 50K Millix for their physical effort. That's not the right motivation to move. Someone simply does not take 100K steps per week, but maybe only 30K steps. I know that both activities are similar and it's time to come up with something else because the participation is very low.

I understand your point, , but I would like to clarify something about the Tangled Steps rewards.
Participants do not simply receive 50,000 MLX for their physical effort. The Top 3 receive the weekly podium rewards, while participants finishing from 4th to 20th receive 100,000 MLX. The 50,000 MLX tier applies only to positions 21–30.
With the current number of participants, nobody is receiving only 50,000 MLX. Every valid participant outside the Top 3 receives 100,000 MLX.
Tangled Steps also does not require someone to reach 100,000 steps to earn a meaningful reward. Rankings are based on that week’s valid entries, so someone completing 30,000 steps could still reach the podium depending on the results.
The activity also includes Edition-based consistency rewards, a Finale Wheelspin and larger Finale prizes. Its purpose is not only to reward the highest step totals, but also to encourage people to return, remain consistent and keep moving in whatever way they can.
I agree that participation is currently low and that it is worth considering how these activities can evolve. However, that is separate from accurately representing how the Tangled Steps reward structure works.

I am the original creator of the steps activity on Tangled, which I first launched in September 2025. Although it was paused for six months due to very valid personal reasons, I never abandoned the project.
During my absence, another user launched a similar initiative featuring a different reward model and an added requirement for photo or video proof.
I recognize that #healthysteps by currently draws higher participation. I have already posted the thread for the new week, but I am withholding the link from the thread until this matter is resolved. If necessary, I am fully prepared to step aside or relinquish eligibility for sponsorship. Moving forward, I will either self-fund Tangled Steps—just as I did when I originally created it—or close the activity entirely. My intention is not to compete with or take anything away from . I simply want to continue an activity I created, care deeply about and never intended to abandon.

In my opinion, the fairest solution would be to give priority to the original activity idea, while allowing the second host to continue the activity with clearly different requirements.

For example, one activity could focus on total steps with a fitness app screenshot, while the other could require a short video showing any kind of physical movement. This way, both activities can encourage healthy habits without allowing the exact same submission to earn two rewards.

I also think clear rules should be announced before the activity starts, so participants know exactly what is allowed. This would be fair to the hosts, participants, and sponsors. ❤️

I think the fairest approach would be to have a clear one-submission, one-reward rule for sponsored activities. If the exact same content is submitted to two overlapping activities, it should only qualify for one sponsorship reward, while genuinely different submissions with the same theme, can qualify separately.

Hosts can make sponsored activities meaningfully different, for example, by requiring different formats, prompts, or creative elements. If two activities are too similar, the hosts should clarify which types of submissions are eligible before the challenge begins.

That would make the system more transparent and fair, clear rules, distinct activities, and no double rewards for the exact same work.

I completely agree that the original idea creator should be left with the earn activity.
The other host should come up with a different type of sports activity.

these are some of the most meaningful activities on tangled social as of now, regarding health. id absolutely let it slip. ofcourse participanties shouldnt be able to copy-paste and get double dipped for their 'achievements' but if its health related and lets say both activities encourage you to get your ass up on moving then i'd say the more the merrier.

now ask me again what i feel about 'copy this latest tiktok trend and make sure to use AI to turn yourself into a fruit' activities.

Yes, you're right , maybe one of the activities could use the fitness/activity app showing the total steps while the other could require a 40‑second video showing any type of movement, not necessarily walking.

I think , the oldest host of the activity (original idea) have priority for sponsorship.
the copy activity should be modified with different requirements/submissions or disqualified of sponsorship ( as it's duplicated ) on weekly base..

But ..
With the consideration that the group wasn't active for a long weeks and the host of the duplicated activity kept it alive. Wich is a good thing ...
It can be a weekly or monthly activity.

To avoid duplicated submission and draining Mlx for low efforts ...
