why ysk this is because visa and mastercard have a feature called automatic billing updater that automatically gives your new card details to recurring merchants like gyms or sketchy apps even after you report the old card lost this is why people get charged again on a brand new card the only way to truly stop them is to explicitly ask your bank to turn off the account updater service for your account before you get the new card issued.
