Best way to wire 7 100w lights
Truck is a ‘95 f150 rcsb.
I’m going to get 2 100w KC lights on the bumper, I have 5 of the harbor freight 100w specials on my headache rack, 1 rear facing 100w light for a bed light, and I want to get some interior LEDs for the footwells, and potentially have a circuit for a larger semi truck horn. That’s 5 circuits so far.
They’re h3 halogens. Cheapies, yeah, but I don’t want LEDs on an obs truck, they just don’t belong in my opinion. I looked into auxbeam switch panels, specifically the 8 gang ra80xl, they’re rated for 60a total if I read it right. 7 100w halogens pull like 58a leaving very little room for overhead.
I can’t seem to find an all in one fused relay box for at least 6 circuits that can handle what I have. I’d like the 5 100w lights on my headache rack to be on one switch that controls multiple relays. The boxes I see on Amazon have small gauge wiring, one even said like 13ga wiring but from what I’ve read ideally I should be using at least 12 but preferably 10ga wiring for these halogen lights. Do I just need to build my own? If yes, any suggestions on what I should get and how to make it waterproof?
