Trail camera: Fun, informative, helpful or just another silly stupid electronic at a camp site?
My gf and I are newer to camping and have gone 3-4 times car camping to popular sites all in bear country.
On our second trip we had a bear walk right through our camp while cooking. It was just checking out what was for dinner and seemed he had a specific path.
When we first started camping the gf was super scared of bears. After that encounter she became obsessed and wishes to see another lol.
That same night it came back again and we heard it play with the bear locker and sniff around our tent. Confirmed in the morning by the above pic.
We try to limit our electronics. A chargeable air pump to inflate/deflate our sleep pad has been the extent of our battery powered luxuries.
Does anyone setup trail cams at site just to review what may have come through? Has it been informative/fun to review in the mornings or is it just one more thing with a battery that doesn’t add or may even take away from the experience?
My thoughts is reviewing it the night after something spooks us outside the tent to learn how much our brains tricked us and learn what it was or just to review for fun learning the creatures in the area.
