How to sound proof an apartment for upstairs neighbors.

We live on the second floor of a triplex and have a two year old who can throw a very loud tantrum. Our upstairs neighbors have complained several times in a pretty aggressive way claiming that she screams for hours every night. That is not true but I do understand that the noise can be disruptive on the occasions when she does scream for a while.

I have been hesitant to sleep train because I do not want to escalate conflict with the neighbors. We are now expecting another baby and want to make the apartment as soundproof as possible to minimize noise traveling both upstairs and downstairs.

I already installed acoustic panels in her room but I think the bigger issue is that the building is over 100 years old with hardwood floors and loose fitting doors. We ordered a carpet and thick pad for her room but I am looking for additional DIY friendly ways to reduce sound transmission in an old building. Any advice on door treatments ceiling or wall solutions or other realistic soundproofing options would be appreciated.
