Watch to celebrate engagement and birth of first child ~£2000
Hello all,
I am searching for a watch to celebrate my engagement and the upcoming birth of my first child. It would be fantastic to be able to hand it down to him.
Something I can get pleasure from wearing, with a bit of history/prestige/craftsmanship.
I work as a first responder and enjoy being outside, so something that can take a bit of a beating would be preferred. I have a fenix 6 pro that I usually wear for work, but I'd like the option of wearing this watch and knowing it can handle some scrapes.
With this considered, I would prefer a date complication, at the very least. Day dates are fantastic, but having this as a requirement appears to limit my searches to some Sinn and Seiko models - both of which I am not ruling out entirely.
I had bought a Seamaster (pictured). On paper, it was perfect, but I didn't fall in love with it so I resold it.
My \\\~6 months of obsessing and research keep bringing me back to Tudor and one of their lightly used black bays. Likewise, I had considered some Sinn models due to their day date complications, but I worry they lean slightly too into tool-watch territory.
I tend to favour diver watches and have a 6.5 inch wrist. My general style, however, would possibly lean towards a more vintage watch. I have had a look at some \\\~1960s Rolex Oyster Perpetuals which could be interesting, although they might not fit the bill re handling some scrapes.
Ultimately, I've been grasped by analysis paralysis, and I welcome any thoughts, recommendations of advice you might have. If I've missed any poignant details which may assist, please let me know.
