Older homes: do you fix lighting incrementally or all at once?
Our house is older, and like many older homes, lighting feels like a patchwork of past decisions. Some rooms are fine, others feel oddly dim no matter how many fixtures are installed.
Rather than tackling everything at once, I’ve been testing incremental improvements. One example: adding a high-lumen floor lamp instead of immediately upgrading ceiling lights. I’ve been using a homelist 500W floor lamp for a large room, and it’s helped enough that it made me pause on bigger upgrades.
For those with older homes:
Did you tackle lighting room by room or do a full overhaul?
Were temporary solutions worth it, or did you end up replacing everything anyway? #diy
