Can we talk about what happens AFTER you run a bear off from your campsite?

I hear a lot about how to get rid of a bear (spray, whistle, pots and pans, gun), but never about the cooling off period that comes after. Do you move campsites? How long before you feel comfortable falling asleep? Does Mr. Smokey ever come back for Round 2?
