Hey so I recently applied and got an interview scheduled next week Wednesday for a fitting/welding trainee at gunderson and marine ironworks. I know it’s not the best, I’ve heard yall but there’s literally no other welding job in Portland I can get into with my little 1 year experience.
Prior to the interview, there are two pre-screen tests that will be given. One focuses on math (fractions & multiplication) and tape measure reading and the other is blueprint reading and assembly (Mechanical Aptitude Test). No calculators can be used.
I Know basic math, fractions haven’t done since years ago, decimals and tape measure seems like it’s not hard to grasp but blue print assembly? I have never took a blue print course in my welding classes. My experience is stick / mig welding beads for a year.
I am reaching out for any help I can get. If anyone knows how they run the blue print test please let me know. As well as maybe Video recommendation or practice tests I can do at home please let me know. thank you! #industry source
