May 7, 2026… #movieoftheday is A Little Parisian (aka Un Petit Parisien) (full movie) (2002).
“A Little Parisian is directed by Sébastien Grall, based on Dominique Jamet's novel “A Little Parisian: 1941-1945" and stars Thibault de Montalembert, Elise Tielrooy, Enzo Bossettti, Sébastien Robert, Julien Deschamps, Lara Guirao and Juliette Duval."
After his father's release as a prisoner-of-war by the Germans, seven-year-old Benji moves to Paris with his family. The death of his mother, with whom he had a tender bond, leaves him alone and helpless in the face of the sordid daily life of a city under occupation and an authoritarian and inaccessible father whom he fears and venerates.
Life, bittersweet, flashes before his gaze, starved of tenderness, in a bizarre and absurd whirlwind: Dora, a boisterous blonde who lounges around the apartment in her underwear; the mysterious disappearance of Tesa, his Jewish friend; his father's proud smile as he prays for Germany's victory; the little notebooks in which his father secretly jots his most shameless thoughts and which he deliberately leaves behind. His father, a fragile hero?
