Today I am sharing a famous and close to my heart local food from my city Sialkot, Pakistan 💚 Saag and corn bread is the glory of our Punjabi culture, which is especially loved in winters.
This food is made with simple ingredients but is unmatched in taste ✨ Warm corn bread and saag with butter — it is not just food but a feeling ❤️
This is traditional Punjabi / Desi food which is the identity of our region. Such foods keep us connected to our roots 🌸
Jalebi in Pakistan is a popular sweet treat made of deep-fried wheat flour batter in a circular shape, soaked in a fragrant sugar syrup. It's considered a national sweet, enjoyed as a street food, and often served warm. It can be eaten on its own or dipped in hot or cold milk, a combination known as Doodh Jalebi.
Ingredients : The batter is typically made from fine wheat flour (maida) and yogurt or yeast. After frying, it's soaked in a syrup, which is often flavored with cardamom or lemon juice. Preparation : The batter is squeezed through a cloth or a piping bag into hot oil in a circular motion to create the iconic shape. Once fried to a golden brown, it is immediately soaked in the sweet syrup. Serving: Jalebi is best enjoyed fresh when it is crunchy and light. It can become chewy if left for too long. #foodadventure #localfood #pakistan
