I stood still, my heart pounding loudly in my chest. The knock came againβslowβ¦ deliberate. I checked my phone. The voice note was still there. My voice. Same tone. Same fear. βDonβt open the doorβ¦β it repeated in my mind. But curiosity pulled me closer. I looked through the peepholeβ¦ and my breath stopped. It was me. Same face. Same clothes. Standing outsideβ¦ staring straight at the door, smiling slightly. Then my phone buzzed again. Another voice note. I didnβt want to press playβ¦ but I did. This time, my voice whispered: βYou already opened it.β And suddenlyβ¦ the knocking stopped.
Don't Open the door.. At the door was my neighbor, asking for help to start his car. For a second, everything felt normal again. Maybe I had overreacted. I stepped outside and helped him push the car. The engine coughed then started. He thanked me and drove off.
But something didnβt sit right. My phone was still in my hand. I checked the voice note again. No sender. No number. Just that same 10-second clip. I pressed play one more time. Silenceβ¦ then my voice again, βDonβt open the doorβ¦β
This time, there was something else. A faint sound in the background. A knock.Three slow taps. My stomach dropped. Because those taps were happening again, right behind me. I turned slowly toward my house. The door I had just closed , was now slightly open And from inside, in the darkness, someone whispered, in my voice,
Donβt Open The Door" My heart started racing as I heard that voiceβ¦ it was my own voice warning me. I slowly walked toward the door, but as soon as I placed my hand on the handle, I stopped. The knocking came againβ¦ louder this time. I gathered some courage and asked, βWho is it?β but there was no reply. Suddenly, I realized that the voice sounded like meβ¦ but scared, as if I was warning myself from the future. I quickly looked through the peepholeβ¦ no one was there, yet the knocking didnβt stop. Goosebumps covered my body. Then my phone buzzed againβ¦ another message appeared: βIf you open the doorβ¦ everything will end.β I stepped back immediately and decided not to open the doorβ¦ and after that night, I never answered an unknown knock again. π°
