I have spent years helping people work through challenges in their lives, and something I have noticed is how often we already know what we need to do. We just struggle to give ourselves the same advice we would so freely give someone we care about.
Think about it. When a friend comes to you with a problem, you listen, you try to understand, and you offer advice based on what you believe would help them. You want what is best for them. You see their potential beyond their circumstances.
But when that same problem becomes yours, everything seems different.
Suddenly, fear enters the conversation. Pride starts defending your decisions. Hope convinces you to keep holding on to something that may no longer serve you. Your emotions begin influencing what you believe is possible.
I have learned that sometimes the greatest interference in our lives is not the problem itself, but the relationship we have with that problem.
We become so emotionally attached to our circumstances that we struggle to see the choices available to us.
So here is something I encourage you to try today.
The next time you find yourself struggling with a decision, imagine someone you deeply care about sitting across from you, explaining the exact same situation.
What would you tell them?
Would you encourage them to keep suffering? Would you tell them they are incapable of changing? Would you remind them of their mistakes, or would you help them recognize their possibilities?
Now ask yourself why you deserve anything less.
Your True Self deserves the same compassion, understanding, honesty, and encouragement you so willingly offer others.
Sometimes the wisdom you are searching for is already within you. You simply need to become willing to listen.

No one has the power to make you unhappy—only you do. Imagine someone walks up to you and says, “You’re wearing stupid-looking glasses.” How would you respond if you weren’t wearing any glasses? You might laugh it off, think, “This person’s ridiculous,” or simply walk away.
Now, what if you were wearing glasses? Would your reaction change? Would you feel offended or self-conscious? Why?
The truth is, we often allow people’s words or actions to affect us far more than necessary. But here’s the good news: we don’t have to. You can choose to shrug off their negativity, refuse to let them influence your thoughts, and act as if their words hold no real power over you—because they don’t. The power they seem to have is the power you’ve handed over to them. And just as you gave it, you can take it back.
When you reclaim your power, something incredible happens. You begin to clean up your own mind. Instead of being at the mercy of others’ opinions or actions, you start choosing thoughts, feelings, and actions that align with the life you want to create. You stop reacting and start responding with intention.
Happiness has always been in your hands, shaped by the thoughts you allow to dominate your mind—consciously or unconsciously. Take back your power. Challenge the influence you’ve allowed others to have and build the life you truly desire, starting with your own thoughts.
If this reached you or there was something that truly resonated with you, please like and share in hopes this will maybe reach someone that it could help.
