In March 2023 I was already using Leonardo.ai, and I made these images at that time. I must say that this platform was a great discovery, and today it continues to get better and better. I highly recommend it.

Here's a caricature of actor Leo McKern as Horace Rumpole , a middle-aged London barrister who defended a broad variety of clients, often underdogs. Rumpole is a character created by the British writer and barrister John Mortimer .
He loves the courtroom. Despite attempts by his friends and family to persuade him to move on to a more respectable position for his age, such as a Queen's Counsel (QC) or a Circuit Judge , he only enjoys defending his clients (who are often legal aid cases) at the Old Bailey , London's Central Criminal Court: "the honor of being an Old Bailey Hack," as he describes his work.
He privately calls his wife, Hilda, "She Who Must Be Obeyed," a reference to the fearsome queen in H. Rider Haggard 's adventure novel She .
The illustration is in the style of Sir Leslie Matthew Ward (November, 21, 1851 – May 15, 1922), a British portrait artist and caricaturist who, over four decades, painted 1,325 portraits which were regularly published by Vanity Fair , under the pseudonyms " Spy " and " Drawl. " The portraits were produced as watercolors and turned into chromolithographs for publication in the magazine. These were then usually reproduced on better paper and sold as prints. Such was his influence in the genre that all Vanity Fair caricatures are sometimes referred to as "Spy cartoons" regardless of the actual artist.
Early portraits, almost always full-length (judges at the bench being the main exception), had a stronger element of caricature and usually distorted the proportions of the body, with a very large head and upper body supported on much smaller lower parts. Later, as he became more accepted by his social peers, and to avoid offending potential sitters, his style developed into what he called "characteristic portraits." This was less of a caricature and more of an actual portrait of the subject, using realistic body proportions.
