How can you be more curious and less critical?

I have learned that one of the quickest ways to create conflict with another person is to assume I know why they did what they did.

Think about it. Someone does something that hurts or disappoints us and almost immediately we create a story about their intentions. They did not care. They were selfish. They should have known better.

Yet when we make a mistake, we want people to understand what we intended.

That is where I believe curiosity can change everything.

Instead of immediately asking what is wrong with them, ask what might be happening within them. What do I not know? What experiences shaped their perception? Could this have been misunderstanding, lack of awareness, or simply being human?

That pause changes the energy of the entire situation.

But curiosity does not remove accountability.

When my actions hurt someone, I cannot simply say that was not my intention and believe that makes everything disappear. My intention matters, but so does my impact. Awareness means being willing to acknowledge both.

Most conflict is not created because people wake up wanting to hurt each other. It grows from assumptions, misunderstandings, poor communication, different perceptions, and moments when we simply were not aware.

So today, catch yourself before criticism becomes judgment. Pause before creating the story.

Become curious.

Ask questions. Listen. Seek understanding. And when you are the one who caused the hurt, own your actions and learn from them.

You cannot influence every situation, but you can always influence the energy you bring into it.

Do you really understand them?

The moment you stop trying to fit into everyone else’s expectations is the moment you begin to find your authentic life. Most people only understand life through the limits of their own experiences, beliefs, and emotional conditioning. When you think differently, live differently, or carry a different energy, many will misunderstand you. That does not mean something is wrong with you. It simply means they can only see life from their current level of awareness.

Too many people abandon their True Self just to gain approval, acceptance, or validation from others. But living that way creates a life built on performance instead of purpose. Real fulfillment comes when your thoughts, emotions, actions, and energy align with who you truly are instead of who others expect you to be.

Empathy is one of the greatest tools for understanding both yourself and others. True empathy is not judging someone through your story, your pain, or your experiences. It is learning to listen without forcing your perspective onto their reality. When people feel heard, seen, and understood without judgment, connection begins to grow naturally.

This understanding also helps you realize that we are all different while carrying many of the same struggles, fears, and desires underneath. The more you develop compassion, awareness, and understanding, the more authentic your relationships become. You stop chasing acceptance and start attracting people who align with your energy, values, and True Self.

Your path is not meant to make sense to everyone. It is meant to make sense to you.

Can you understand them?

People’s actions and beliefs may sometimes leave you shaking your head, wondering, How could they possibly think that way? Because it does make sense…to them. Their thinking is shaped by their life experiences, their influences, their conditioning, and their level of awareness. They may not have had the same opportunities for learning, reflection, or mindfulness that you’ve had.

That’s why they hold on to their beliefs. That’s why they keep repeating the same mistakes. That’s why they cling to fears and biases. Their logic is not your logic—it’s the product of a different upbringing, different beliefs, and often a lack of the very empathy you’re trying to practice right now.

When you step into their perspective, you begin to see that it’s not random chaos. There’s a system to it, even if it’s flawed. And while their actions or beliefs may still be unacceptable, you can start to see the human roots behind them.

This isn’t about agreeing with them or excusing harmful behavior. It’s about understanding without absorbing their negativity. Because the moment you let their ignorance infect your own energy, you’ve given away your influence. The key is to remain grounded—anchored in your own truth, while still engaging with them as a fellow human being.

You have a gift they may not have yet, awareness. And with awareness comes responsibility. Not to control them (you can’t), but to influence with presence, compassion, and example.

So when you meet someone locked in their fear or bias, don’t meet them with judgment, meet them with clarity. Understand where they’re coming from, protect your own energy, and choose influence over reaction. That’s how you live at full potential in a world full of different perspectives.
