Are you explaining your goals more than pursuing them?
Have you ever found yourself spending more time explaining what you want to accomplish than actually working toward it?
I have learned something over the years. The more time we spend trying to convince others of our intentions, the less energy we have available to turn those intentions into reality.
Think about how often we explain our goals, justify our decisions, or defend the changes we are making in our lives. Sometimes we are not even looking for advice. We are unconsciously looking for approval, reassurance, or permission to become someone different.
And when that approval never comes, what happens? We begin questioning ourselves. We hesitate. We procrastinate. Eventually, those explanations become excuses for why we have not taken action.
I have experienced this throughout my own journey. There were times when the life I wanted made absolutely no sense to the people around me. And looking back, I understand why. They were seeing my possibilities through their own experiences, beliefs, and limitations.
But their understanding was never a requirement for my progress.
Here is something I encourage you to consider today. Not everyone needs to understand your vision. Not everyone needs to agree with your choices. And you certainly do not need an audience to begin creating the life you desire.
There is a difference between explaining yourself to gain understanding and explaining yourself because you lack confidence in your own decisions.
Become aware of that difference.
Be accountable for your choices. Take responsibility for your actions. Commit to your vision and remain consistent in your efforts.
Because your potential will never be realized through explanations.
It will be realized through your actions.
