Are you explaining your goals more than pursuing them?

Have you ever found yourself spending more time explaining what you want to accomplish than actually working toward it?

I have learned something over the years. The more time we spend trying to convince others of our intentions, the less energy we have available to turn those intentions into reality.

Think about how often we explain our goals, justify our decisions, or defend the changes we are making in our lives. Sometimes we are not even looking for advice. We are unconsciously looking for approval, reassurance, or permission to become someone different.

And when that approval never comes, what happens? We begin questioning ourselves. We hesitate. We procrastinate. Eventually, those explanations become excuses for why we have not taken action.

I have experienced this throughout my own journey. There were times when the life I wanted made absolutely no sense to the people around me. And looking back, I understand why. They were seeing my possibilities through their own experiences, beliefs, and limitations.

But their understanding was never a requirement for my progress.

Here is something I encourage you to consider today. Not everyone needs to understand your vision. Not everyone needs to agree with your choices. And you certainly do not need an audience to begin creating the life you desire.

There is a difference between explaining yourself to gain understanding and explaining yourself because you lack confidence in your own decisions.

Become aware of that difference.

Be accountable for your choices. Take responsibility for your actions. Commit to your vision and remain consistent in your efforts.

Because your potential will never be realized through explanations.

It will be realized through your actions.

What was your intentions?

What if this idea was true? What if your reality is completely made up by your own perception. Just how you thought, believed, or perceived what happened. Not really what the actual event was.

It’s a hard concept to understand when we want to be the victim. When we want to blame someone or something else. When we are inclined to make us excuses for our life. When we actually deny the truth to serve our own narrative. This happens to too many.

The truth is we could expose an event to two hundred people and depending on how different all these individuals are, we could possibly come up with two hundred different interpretations of what happened. For each person, depending on their thought process, their beliefs, and their own intentions, always sees events differently than anyone else. Even if it the very same event happening. We all have opinions made up by our own perceptions.

So maybe it is true. Maybe the way your life is being live by you is actually a product because of you. Your thoughts. Your beliefs. Your intentions.

The hard part of this is taking responsibility and accountability for you own life. The great part of this is you can change the reality you live at any moment you so choose. By changing the very thoughts, beliefs, and intentions within you.

The newness or different life you seek is actually with you. Not out there. Just by making some changes within will change how you perceive anything.

Change yourself and you will absolutely change your reality.
Start with gratitude, compassion, empathy, and forgiveness. Especially to yourself.
