Theme: Movies/series about Survival
I chose the movie Eight Below (2006)
Directed by Frank Marshall.
Since I have Siberian Huskies, this is one of my favorite films.
The story ends with a happy ending, but during the film you will bite your 10 nails because it is so exciting and touching.
Three members of a scientific expedition, Jerry Shepard (Paul Walker), his friend Cooper (Jason Biggs) and an American geologist (Bruce Greenwood) are on a mission to Antarctica. The goal of the mission is to find the first meteorite fragments from the planet Mercury.
Jerry (Paul Walker) is a tour guide for a group of scientists in Antarctica, and they complete the mission with eight sled dogs in the coldest conditions. But when the storm of the century approaches, they evacuate the base. Believing that they will return in 3 hours for the dogs, Jerry ties up the eight dogs. However, the return is thwarted by a storm. Jerry cannot accept the situation and moves every stone to go back.
Meanwhile, the dogs are freed from their chains theirself and struggle to survive in the cold landscape for six months alone.
