I was on my way over to my friend's house today and I was thinking about something I had heard recently. The idea was that the experience of consciousness is a result of a shared experience of all life, and possibly all matter, that has ever existed. I thought maybe the life energy is like a hand in a glove and living things are the fingers of the glove and together we all make one.
Now the previous night, there had been a ground fire that had made it's way up near his property line and been stopped spreading, and while I was at his house, the fire rekindled and began to burn through the forest around his property, yet again. The fire was relatively small compared to 99.9 9% of forest fires, even at it's maximum conflagration, but I tell you it was STILL very impressive how hot and how quickly the fire burned. As we pushed brush back from the edge of the road to preventatively contain the fire that had arrived at the line, it was beginning to burn out and everything was just flat out burned and dead. Even the turtles. And again this was only about a third of an acre that burned, but while I was looking at it, this sadness hit me. It was pretty unmistakable, really. I could feel the loss of life, that had just ravaged the area, although none of my kind had died. It made me sorrowful and made me think back to what I was ruminating on during the car ride over.
We are all very special nodes of a collective experience, and when we are no more, despite our deaths sowing the seeds for rebirth and new life, we are missed. Peace, Blessings, and Love to all of you. Good night!!!
