It seems our beautiful island had a rather unusual VIP visitor this week! 😄🦭
A southern elephant seal decided to skip the usual tourist spots and make a surprise appearance on the beach. Talk about choosing a beautiful holiday destination! 😂🏖️
Naturally, this unexpected guest attracted plenty of attention, and the authorities quickly took the necessary steps to ensure our very sleepy visitor could relax peacefully, safely, and without being disturbed by curious onlookers. 🌊✨
Mauritius welcomes visitors from all over the world, but this one arrived without a passport! 😂

Yes, really! 😍🦭 Such a rare and adorable surprise for Mauritius! The last time one came was I think in 2016 and we have waited 10 years to have this wonderful moment again. He certainly became our cutest VIP visitor, attracting lots of attention wherever he went. 🤩💙 Hopefully, he enjoyed his little island stopover and continued his journey safely. 🌊🙏

Yes, it is Jackie! 🦭❤️ Authorities confirmed that the seal spotted at Le Morne, in the South west of the island, is the same Jackie who first appeared at Les Salines on the west coast, earlier this month. Experts identified him by his size and distinctive scars. It seems he has headed back out to sea, who knows, maybe he’ll return again! 😊🌊
Thankfully, everyone kept a respectful distance and allowed our sleepy visitor to rest safely and peacefully. 🙏❤️

When I opened the post that video came as a silent photo to me, I don't know why 🥺 Thanks dear for letting me know that seal is alive and I saw it moving in video now! Awesome share from real life, loved it 🥰🦋😇🤗🫰😍
😂😂 This visitor is definitely getting VIP protection! 🦭👮♂️ Just imagine what would happen if precautions weren’t taken, people would rush over for photos, and some might even try to feed the poor seal, or unintentionally do something which could actually harm it. That’s why only the professionals should approach and make sure our unexpected guest stays safe and undisturbed. 🌊❤️
