Movie: Ice Station Zebra (1968)
A Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer film, starring Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine, Patrick McGoohan, and Jim Brown.
It has such a cool mix of Arctic mystery, cold war tension, and adventure. It's a story of a US submarine headed to the Arctic ice research station to recover a Soviet satellite with photos of the US bases. On board were a Russian expatriate, a British secret agent, an American navy captain, and a saboter. The crew had to survive the danger of their voyage.
