First Rosso di Valtellina, and light and airy is about right

We went to Lost Letter in Richmond last night, which does northwest Italian, Piedmont mostly, and I ordered the Tenuta Scerscé Nettare off the list at $65 because I had never tried a Valtellina Nebbiolo. Mostly fresh fruit and berries on the nose, strawberries and cherries with a bit of pepper behind them. On the palate it is light and airy with nice acidity, and honestly it didn't grab me much on its own. It paired wonderfully with the food though, and I liked it a lot more with a plate in front of me. Somewhere around a 12 out of 20 on my own scale I'd say, but I would order it again with that menu. Has anyone had the bigger Valtellina wines like a Sfursat, and is the jump worth it or is this lighter style the whole idea?
