Today we celebrate the International Day of Sign Languages, a beautiful reminder that communication comes in many forms, and being heard isnβt limited to spoken words. ππ€β€οΈ
Letβs be honest, sometimes communication between hearing people is already a comedy show! π
You send someone a message, they reply βK.β, a nd suddenly youβre sitting there wondering:
βWas that a friendly K, an angry K, or a βwe need to talkβ K?β πππ±
Meanwhile, someone sends you a voice message that starts with: βOkay, this is going to be quickβ¦β
Seven minutes laterβ¦ ποΈπ©π€£ Communication clearly has its own little adventures!
But jokes aside, you donβt always need a voice to have something powerful to say. π€β€οΈ Sign languages are much more than gestures. They are fully developed languages with their own grammar, structure, and rich cultural communities. π€π
Today is a beautiful reminder to make communication more inclusive and to remember that everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and respected. π
