Wine storage and vibration I'm asking the question here…

Wine storage and vibration

I'm asking the question here because I'm struggling with finding reliable sources.

When talking about exposing wine to vibration during storage, what are the major risk factors in terms of frequency / amplitude vs. duration?

I suspect that vibration over a long period of time is the major issue (i.e. vibration from the cooler itself or adjacent machinery/appliances), and particularly with wine that has come a long way in terms of maturation.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm about to start digging out my basement (to build a wine room), which involves drilling and hammering a significant amount of rock. My wine will be stored in the room directly above this basement. This will include fairly high energy vibrations, but relatively speaking, we're talking very limited duration. Once the wine room is done, I'll dig out the rest of the basement (which again means fairly high energy vibrations, but limited duration).

Thoughts?
