Hunter Valley Recommendations for Top Tasting
I will be in Sydney for a conference for several days and was looking to add on with a bit of win tasting. What are the tiptop recommended wineries?
I see classics like Tyrrell’s and Brokenwood and then Harkham for a new option but there isn’t much guidance I have found. Also as a winemaker, a place where you chat with someone who really knows the area and winemaking would be great
Of note my palate is specific. I like precise yet graceful. Not too much oak, natural leaning. Tension yet powerful and balanced is perhaps the best way to out it. Sort of Burgundian wines outside of burgundy.
My favorite wines include Hubert Lamy white burgundy, Stella de Campalto Montalcino, Bourdignon Chenin, Radikon orange, Keller and Falkenstein Riesling, old Dunn and Corison from Napa and DDLC Pinot
