Had this 2014 Domaine Georges Vernay Côte-Rôtie “Blonde du Seigneur” recently, and it was honestly one of the best Syrah experiences I’ve had so far.
What surprised me most was how delicate it felt. I usually associate Syrah with more power, spice, and structure, but this was much more lifted and graceful. Very silky texture, pretty aromatics, and a long, elegant finish rather than anything heavy or over-extracted.
It still had enough savory Rhône character to feel clearly like Côte-Rôtie, but the overall impression was almost Burgundian in its restraint and finesse.
Curious how others feel about Georges Vernay reds. I mostly knew the domaine for Condrieu, but this bottle really changed my perception. #drink #food source
