I often watch them from inside the house, they come to feed on leftover corn and seed I put out for the birds and squirrels
I'm shooting from right inside my front door maybe 6 meters away

Back in COVID times I always said at least I wouldn't starve if the food stores closed...

We shoot them here in Michigan for food and sport. Also because we keep hitting them with our vehicles! 😲 My wife has hit two of them in the last 4 years. It been awhile since I hit one thank goodness. 😆 lol

You may choose to disbelieve but I have hit 11 over the years (actually 2 hit me vs me hit them but...)

Used to do lots of extreme late night/early morning driving. But I've hit them in the middle of the day as well. And they are stupid - they can be on the opposite shoulder of the road and instead of going THAT way they run across the road right in front of you. I still think Illinois should pay for the damage they do to vehicles since the law says all wildlife belongs to the state...

Not the brightest of creatures. Michigan trying to get more people to hunt again. The deer are everywhere even in bigger cities now. It's crazy!

I live in town and have seen 7 in my yard at one time before. 50 years ago never saw a single deer inside the city limits.
