2011 Knights Bridge Beckstoffer To Kalon and Indian food at Copra
Second time trying this bottle in the past month.
Brought this to Copra in San Francisco.
Gave it an hour decant before dinner, then let it open up for another two hours in the decanter.
I'm increasingly convinced that 2011 was an overhated vintage, at least for good producers.
Last time I tried this, I had it with spicy Chinese food at Mott 32 in Vancouver.
My goal with this bottle was to convince a friend that Napa Cab can go well with Indian food, as long as the pairing is done appropriately.
This is still drinking young, lots of dark red fruit, dark cherry, plums, alongside some blackberry, graphite, eucalyptus, and some chocolate notes as well.
This is a lovely wine and I'm lucky to have found this on auction.
And, yes, it did pair well with the dishes, especially the Mysore Masala Dosa!
