Ice Castles (1978)
Ice Castles is a Romance/Sport movie, starring Lynn Holly Johnson as Lexie Winston and Robby Benson as Nick Peterson and directed by Donald Wrye.
Lexie is a young figure skater who dreams to become an Olympic champion and her boyfriend Nick dreams to be a hockey player as well. She becomes famous quickly because of her passion and determination. One day she loses her dreams when she gets an accident in the skating rink that affects her eyesight. She can only see lights and blurry shapes.
Her boyfriend Nick and her loved ones encourage her to skate again. Though practically blind, she can still see the boards at the edge of the skating rink. By her courage and trust in those around her, she returns to the skating rink and learns how to skate again despite her disability.
In the end, she competes again and outperforms other contestants. After her performance, fans throw rose flowers on the rink as an appreciation but she trips over it. Then the crowd applaud after realizing that she hasn't yet regained her eyesight.
