The pandemic was a huge wake-up call for me. It’s when I finally started prioritizing my health by eating better and working out. When the vaccines came out, my husband and I got our first shots, but I decided not to risk it with my children. I personally stopped after one dose because I trusted my natural immune system to handle the rest. On the other hand, my husband—who is in the military and worked on the frontlines—completed his doses and even got a booster. The irony is that he was the only one in our house who caught the virus. He had to go through a strict quarantine and dealt with some really strange, painful headaches every time he coughed. Thankfully, the kids and I stayed healthy and never got infected. Looking back, I truly believe everything happens for a reason. It was a scary time, but my husband survived, and our family stayed strong. It just goes to show that faith really can move mountains.
