Should I buy a birth-year Sauternes for my son to enjoy when he turns 18?
Basically the title. Would be the 2022 vintage, was thinking Suduiraut (y'Quem is too spendy). My wife thinks I'm imposing my taste on him and that an 18 year-old won't enjoy a sweet wine, but I would have got him something Sangiovese if so. My wife thinks Champagne, and she's probably not wrong there either. The idea would be to drink it with a family dinner together to celebrate. I suppose there would be no harm in getting all 3, but just curious what others have found with their kids that have crossed that threshold? I have a decent cellar so no concerns there.
