Winery in Wachau recs
I am traveling with my sister and elderly mother to Austria at the end of the month. We are driving from Vienna (leaving around 9am) to Hallstatt and would like to stop at one winery on the way. We’d like to make a reservation at a place that has great wines, a nice tasting experience and nice views. No long walks/hikes or stairs for Mom. Since we’ll probably get to the winery well before lunch, suggestions for where to eat on the way to Hallstatt are welcome!
So far, Domäne Wachau and Nigl are top candidates – and I welcome any other suggestions, especially WHY we should visit a specific winery.
Oh, and if there are any terrific wine experiences \*in\* Vienna proper (I’ve read that there are vineyards in the city!) please include those as well.
