I barely remember Purple Noon with Alain Delon, I liked it a lot The Talented Mr. Ripley with Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow and I absolutely loved it Ripley (the series) as soon as it was released… hey, an absolute marvel!
That magnetic black & white world ...wow!
We all know the plot, right? This small New York scammer gets chosen by a rich man who mistakes him for his son’s old classmate, is sent to Italy, to beautiful Atrani (the small village on the Amalfi Coast) to bring home the rebellious son. On the Amalfi Coast he becomes entangled in a dangerous game of identity, lies and manipulation.
Despite being a psychological thriller, it has a striking elegance. The black & white photography of the Amalfi landscapes is hauntingly beautiful. Loved it.❤️
