A Review of the 2023 Kirkland Oak-Aged Chardonnay and a Culinary Pairing
Here’s my review :)
The Chardonnay reveals itself with notable composure in this setting. Its restrained acidity provides an essential structural counterbalance to the richness of the melted mozzarella, cleansing the palate with precision and without any sense of intrusion. The wine’s subtle oak influence—expressed through gentle, rounded notes of butter and soft cream—melds harmoniously with the dairy richness of the cheese, creating a sense of continuity rather than contrast. On the finish, refined impressions of green apple and citrus emerge with clarity, lending lift, definition, and an elegant sense of progression that prevents the palate from becoming overly weighted.
