Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Superiore 2019 – Torre degli Angeli
I've been on a bit of a quest to find a Lacrima which has a good chunk of floral /violet / lavender character without becoming too perfumed or soapy, so I thought I'd give this Superiore a try.
The first glass was actually a little disappointing. The nose was quite flat and the palate didn't have a huge amount going on either.
I put the bottle in the fridge and came back to it about 24 hours later, and it had changed quite a bit. It was much more expressive, and I could definitely pick up the lavender character, particularly on the palate. Still not as intensely floral as I'm hoping to find, but much more interesting than it was initially.
I paid €20 for the bottle and I'd happily buy it again at that price. It didn't quite scratch the particular Lacrima itch I'm looking for, though, so I will try some younger, non-Superiore examples next.
