Part two of the #survivalPackOnTour ⛏️ Making glue and building tools ⛏️
The glue is made from three components:
Tree resin, beeswax and finely ground charcoal.
First, the resin is heated until it is completely liquid, then beeswax is added and the mixture must become liquid again. Finally, finely ground charcoal is added as a catalyst. The mixing ratio must be selected so that a viscous but still reasonably liquid mass is created. This stuff sticks like the devil!
The workpieces can then be glued together. You have to be quick, because the glue hardens quickly. I had to heat it up again and again in between and hurry when coating the tool.
