The internet usually gets information from one place to another through a chain of connections.
Mesh networking works in a different way. Devices can connect through each other, so everything doesn’t have to depend on the same connection. If one part of the network goes down, other parts can stay connected. Local communication can also continue when access to the wider internet is disrupted.
𝐒𝐋𝐍𝐍 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐡 is SourceLess’ decentralized network infrastructure, combining this kind of connectivity with distributed hosting, storage and encrypted communication across the network.
It can operate through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 5G, giving devices different ways to connect and exchange information.
SLNN Mesh is the connectivity part of SourceLess, which covers identity, communication, AI, finance and data without putting everything through the same centralized platforms and infrastructure.
We can be in the same city and still have our data travel through infrastructure thousands of kilometres away before it comes back.
The Internet Society warned about this in a 2026 report on remote peering and growing dependence on international hubs.
When submarine cables were damaged off East Africa in 2024, connectivity dropped across several countries. Other routes, local Internet Exchange Points and cached content kept parts of the network running.
That ability to lose part of a network without losing everything is called 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
With 𝐒𝐋𝐍𝐍 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐡, SourceLess is developing local mesh networks where nodes can communicate and relay data through one another. If one node or route goes down, another path may still be available, while communication inside the mesh doesn’t have to depend on the global Internet for every exchange.
Some people in our community keep asking us: “𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞?”
So we made a short, beginner-friendly video that breaks down how it works and what it changes for identity, money, ownership and trust online. 🎥
Blockchain is the base layer for what we’re building with SourceLess, from STR Domains and Ccoin Finance to STR Talk, SLNN Mesh and beyond. If you want to understand the basics, this is a good place to start.
Next time someone asks you what blockchain is, send them this link. 💡😉
