Who did you need?

Think back to when you were younger and felt scared, alone, or overwhelmed. In those moments, you believed you needed someone stronger, wiser, or more capable to step in and guide you. Maybe you did. Maybe it was real. Maybe it was your mind creating weight you did not yet know how to carry. Either way, you were searching for support because you had not yet developed the awareness, accountability, and responsibility to guide yourself.

Now everything has changed.

You are no longer that child. You have the ability to think, choose, and act with intention. You may not control anything around you, but you have influence over who you become in every moment. That means the person you were searching for back then can now be created by you.

Be the mentor you once needed by guiding your own thoughts with honesty.
Be the support you once needed by regulating your emotions instead of reacting to them.
Be the example you once needed by taking aligned action even when it feels uncomfortable.

This is how you shift your energy from helpless to empowered. This is how you stop waiting and start becoming.

And here is the deeper truth most miss. When you step into this version of yourself, it does not just change your life. It allows you to show up for others in a way that is real and meaningful. Not for recognition, but because you understand what it feels like to need support.

Service is not about saving others. It is about showing up as your True Self so others can see what is possible.

You needed someone once. Now you are that someone.

How do I move forward?

Grief is something every one of us will face. It is not a weakness. It is a response to change, loss, and the reality that life does not last forever. When something or someone leaves your life, it creates a void. That void feels overwhelming because your mind keeps returning to what was and what is no longer there.

There is no timeline for grief. But there is a process. And that process starts with awareness. You must acknowledge what has happened and how it has changed your life. Not avoid it. Not suppress it. Face it. Because your emotions are being driven by the thoughts you continue to repeat. The scenes of loss, the moments of pain, the story you keep reliving.

Here is the truth most people miss. The pain came from the moment. The suffering comes from replaying it.

You have influence over that.

You cannot change what happened, but you can begin to guide what you focus on. You can start shifting from the single painful moment to the many meaningful moments that came before it. This is not denial. This is direction. This is you choosing how to use your mind instead of letting it use you.

Your life has changed. That is real. But you are still here. And that means you still have purpose. You still have time. You still have the ability to live, grow, and honor what was by how you choose to move forward.

Grieve at your pace. Feel it fully. But do not stay stuck in one moment.

Start guiding your thoughts. Change your energy. Take one small action each day to move forward.

That is how you begin to live again.

Where should you really start?

True compassion begins not with grand gestures to distant lands, but with quiet, intentional acts within our closest circles. It is easy to be moved by the suffering of strangers far away—images on a screen, stories in the news—but the real test of compassion lies in how we treat those directly in our lives: our family, friends, neighbors, and communities. These are the people within our reach, within our influence, and it is here that our efforts are most impactful.

Compassion, like light, should radiate outward—starting from the center and expanding with purpose. When we nurture the people closest to us, we strengthen the roots of our collective humanity. Like the tree of life, healing begins at the base. One healthy leaf leads to another, and soon the entire tree begins to thrive. Ignoring the suffering closest to us in favor of distant causes may feel noble, but it often masks a deeper disconnection from our immediate responsibilities.

By lifting those within arm’s length, we expand our ability to help others. Our reach grows, our voice carries farther, and our actions begin to ripple out into the world. True compassion is not about scope—it’s about sincerity, presence, and impact. We must tend to our own gardens before we seek to plant seeds elsewhere. In doing so, we cultivate authentic empathy that doesn’t just feel good, but does good, rooted deeply in the soil of real human connection.

If this reached you or there was something that truly resonated with you, please like and share in hopes this will maybe reach someone that it could help.
