For this activity, I chose the movie Karate Kid, one of my all-time favorites. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it.

This 1984 classic tells the story of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), a teenager who moves to California, Daniel becomes a target when meet girlfriend of Johnny, the leader a group of bullies who practice karate at the Cobra Kai school. But his life changes when he meets Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), his building's maintenance man, who happens to be a martial arts master. Through unconventional training methods, Miyagi teaches Daniel the true meaning of karate and life, preparing him for a final showdown against Johnny and the entire Cobra Kai school at the All-Valley Karate Tournament. The film was a box office hit and became a cultural icon of the 1980s.

I first saw it at the theater when I was just 8 years old, and I was so enchanted and motivated by its story that I forced my dad to enroll me in a karate school. But since there wasn't a karate school near my house, I ended up practicing taekwondo instead. One of the best decisions of my life, I quit when I went to college and earned a brown belt.
