THE LANGOLIERS (1995) is a solid TV miniseries based on the work by master of horror – Stephen King.
A handful of passengers wake up mid-flight to find almost everyone else has disappeared with nothing left but some watches, jewellery, glasses, even a wig. After landing, they discover a strangely empty world where time is running out… and the Langoliers are on their way.
Based on King’s novella from Four Past Midnight , it delivers a clever high-concept story with decent tension in the confined plane setting. The 90s special effects are a bit underwhelming by now, and give it a kitschy, somewhat dated feel, but the core story from a master storyteller still holds up well enough for a relaxed watch. A decent pick if you’re in the mood for some vintage King adaptation vibes.
The JUNE #CaturdayPoll is now closed and we got in a total of 18 votes—a very big thanks to all #Tanglers who took the time to cast their vote!

✋🏼Howzit! A greeting often used by South Africans in passing usually between co workers, within a community or even as I discovered here in Dubai when we meet a fellow South African expat. 👍🏼Sharp! A South African thank you. Used by customers within any service industry whether it’s the petrol jockey or the cashier in the grocery store or the waiter in a restaurant, it’s the universal thank you used in my country. ✌🏼Ubuntu. Meaning "I am because we are". Symbolizing peace, community and interconnectedness in my country called the Rainbow Nation.
