Hello dear #TangledCommunity 😸
Today is Wednesday. Mittwoch. Woensdag. Cреда. Hump Day.
The name ‘Wednesday’ refers to the ‘day of Woden’ – Woden being the Germanic name for the Norse God Odin. The Latin name for Odin is Mercurius. Hence, some languages name this day of the week after the ‘day of Mercury’, such as the Spanish miércoles. Other languages simply refer to Wednesday as the ‘third day’ (Latvian trešdiena) or even middle of the week (German Mittwoch).
Somewhere in the 1950s, Wednesday came to be known as HUMP DAY , … the middle of the workweek, … or the ‘hump’ people have to climb over to reach the weekend.
Starting next week, I would like to introduce you to a new event called #HumpdayAndChill 🍿🎬. The idea is that we recommend our favourite movies and TV series around a certain theme. On #Caturday I will open a voting post with a few themes, where you can then pick your favourite theme of the bunch. In future, I will let you suggest themes to pick from! On Tuesday I will count all the votes and we find out what the theme will be for the next day!
On Thursday evening, when the event is over, I will raffle away 3 prizes to the participants – to start off 110,000 mlx per winner (I am still new and need to secure some more funding 😸!).
So, for now, if you do feel like suggesting a theme – don’t hesitate and let me know in the comments of this post and I will include it as an option in the upcoming #CaturdayPoll !
