#earn activity We often hear about the big problems, but sometimes the most important things we learn about money happen in small, everyday situations. Times when you knew that having money wasn't just about being comfortable, but about staying alive.
Think of a specific day when you learned that money is the same as survival, even if it seems small or unimportant to others. Maybe it was choosing between food and medicine, being afraid of not being able to pay a bill, or being happy to have just enough money for a bus ticket home.
Understanding the Nuance Not everyone will agree with the idea that "money equals survival" right away. For some, money means comfort, opportunity, or safety. For some people, especially those who have or are going through financial trouble, it's a direct link to basic human needs like food, shelter, healthcare, and safety. This activity is for you to understand and find your truth. It's a place to remember those times that seemed to be about more than just saving or budgeting. It's about realizing how financial instability affects our lives in a real, often unspoken way. Your experience is real, even if other people don't agree. This is a place for people who do see this deeper connection to come together and understand each other.
Your confession should have: - The Moment: Be clear about what happened. When did it happen? What were the conditions? - The Realization: What was it that made you realize that money was directly linked to your survival (or the survival of someone you care about) in that situation? Here, talk about your own experiences and feelings. - The Downplay: Why do you usually downplay or not talk about this realization? What is that little voice in your head that says, "It was nothing" or "Everyone goes through this"? This is where you might try to fit in with a society that doesn't see money as a way to survive without even knowing it. - The Feeling: Even though you don't want to talk about it, what core feeling do you still have about this moment (like fear, relief, shame, or resilience)?
ATTACHMENT: Real Photo taken by YOU (+ right hand “ 👌 ”) A photo that, for you, represents or symbolizes that specific "money = survival" moment or the feeling associated with it.
