Resilience in the Rain 🌷 I’ve been quiet on here for a while, taking some space to process a bit of a "perfect storm." As I look at this tulip, I see a lot of my own journey right now. Today marks 105 days smoke-free, a milestone I’m incredibly proud of. But the path hasn't been all sunshine. Recently, I was hit with the news of pre-diabetes and high cholesterol—a heavy "bill" coming due from years of smoking. It was a bitter pill to swallow. As someone who prioritizes movement and fuels my body with fresh veggies, fruits, and lean proteins while avoiding processed foods, the diagnosis felt like a betrayal. It led me into a dark headspace for a while. But, like this bloom in Northern France, I’m learning to sit with the rain. Currently, I’m here with my husband, focusing on keeping my mindset positive and my spirit steady. I’m holding onto faith that with continued discipline and this clean air, I can turn these numbers around without being tied to chronic medication for life. I’m stepping back into the light slowly. Thank you for being part of my "sanity" check today.
60 Days: A New Rhythm, A New Life 🎷 They say it takes 21 days to break a habit, but at 60 days, it’s no longer just a habit—it’s a transformation. Today marks two full months of choosing my lungs, my heart, and my future over a cigarette. It’s been a symphony of small wins, but the melody hasn't always been easy to play. The Reality Check Life recently threw some heavy chords my way. Finding out I’m navigating high cholesterol and am borderline diabetic was the wake-up call I didn't see coming. It’s been a lot to process, both physically and mentally. This news is exactly why I’ve been quiet on Tangled lately; I’ve had to step back, catch my breath (which is getting easier every day!), and focus entirely on recalibrating my health. Staying Tuned In Even while I've been away, I’ve been keeping an eye on the community. I’m so excited about the new updates rolling out and the ones still in the works! It’s been a boost to see the platform evolving, and it’s a huge motivation for me to get my health straightened out so I can jump back into the mix with all of you. Looking Forward I’m learning that health isn't just about what you subtract (like the smoke), but what you add: more years, more energy, and more moments of clarity. I’m doing the work now so I can play a longer, louder, and more soulful song tomorrow. To everyone else on their own wellness journey, keep pushing forward. Your health is your greatest asset.
See you all back in the feed very soon. Stay strong, stay healthy.
They say it takes 21 days to form a habit, but 50 days feels like a whole new life. 50 days. 1,500 cigarettes NOT smoked. 6 days of my life won back. I’m officially a 'Nutty Professor' according to the app, but honestly, I’ve never felt more sane. It hasn't always been easy, but seeing these numbers add up makes every craving worth the fight. Taking a second to celebrate the small wins that turned into these big numbers. 1,500 cigarettes avoided is 1,500 times I chose my health over a habit. Here’s to the next 50! And..... To anyone else on this journey: keep going. The stats don't lie!
