The older I get, the more I realize how much confidence changes the way we experience life.
But I think we misunderstand where confidence comes from.
People tell me they lost their confidence as if it disappeared somewhere along the way. But confidence did not pack its bags and leave you.
Confidence is an emotion, and emotions begin with thought.
That is TEAR in action. Your thoughts influence your emotions. Your emotions influence your actions. Your actions help create your results.
The problem is that most people repeatedly think about the moments they failed, struggled, made mistakes, or felt rejected. Then they wonder why confidence feels so far away.
Change what you are giving your attention to.
Think about a moment when you succeeded. A moment when you overcame something difficult. A moment when you were proud of yourself.
Now rebuild that experience in your imagination. See what you saw. Hear what you heard. Feel what you felt. Make the experience vivid enough that your body begins responding to the memory.
You are reminding yourself of evidence that already exists.
Confidence is not pretending you can do something you have never done. It is reconnecting with the evidence that you have figured things out before and trusting yourself enough to act again.
Then action creates new evidence.
That evidence creates stronger thoughts. Stronger thoughts influence your emotional energy. That energy influences your next action.
You did not lose your confidence.
You stopped creating the thoughts, emotions, and actions that allowed you to experience it.
Start creating it again.

Is your mindset strengthening your body or weakening it?
Your mind is the foundation of your life. Every thought you allow to take root becomes energy, every emotion creates action, and every action produces results. If you constantly feed your mind fear, anger, gossip, distraction, and negativity, you are training yourself to live in a catabolic state. That drains your focus, weakens your discipline, and makes unhealthy habits feel normal. Over time it affects not only your mindset but your body as well.
An anabolic mind creates a different life. It is built through truth, wisdom, gratitude, responsibility, compassion, and growth. These thoughts strengthen your energy, sharpen your focus, and make commitment and consistency easier because your mind is no longer fighting against itself. When your thoughts support you instead of working against you, your body follows. You become stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Every day you are feeding your mind something. The question is whether it is building you or breaking you. Your future is being shaped by what you repeatedly allow into your mind today. If you want to reach your full true potential, become intentional about what you watch, what you read, who you listen to, and the conversations you entertain.
Your life will always reflect what you consume first in your mind. Choose thoughts that create energy instead of stealing it. Feed your mind what makes you stronger, and your life will begin to reflect that strength.

The greatest power you will ever develop is the ability to influence your own mind. Most people allow their thoughts to happen by accident, then wonder why their emotions control their life. But your emotions are not random. They are created by the thoughts you choose to focus on, whether you realize it or not.
One of the most powerful ways to change your emotional state is to build a collection of core memories. These are moments so rich in detail that your mind can step back into them as if they are happening again. Remember the sights, sounds, smells, touch, and every feeling connected to that experience. The more vividly you relive it, the more your body responds with the same emotions you felt the first time.
Your mind responds to imagination much like it responds to real experience. That is why confidence, peace, gratitude, courage, and joy can all be strengthened through intentional practice. What you think repeatedly becomes what you feel. What you feel repeatedly becomes how you act. And your actions create your results.
This is emotional resilience. It is learning to create your emotional state instead of reacting to it. Stop waiting for life to make you feel confident, peaceful, or strong. Train your mind to produce those emotions from within.
Just as your body becomes stronger through physical training, your mind becomes stronger through mental training. Every time you consciously choose a better thought, revisit an empowering memory, or imagine the person you are becoming, you are conditioning your mind to support your highest potential.
What you practice mentally becomes the energy you bring into every moment. Choose it wisely.
