One of the latest movies I have watched is RENFIELD . This film follows the story of the titular character, the long-suffering servant of Dracula, the latter played by Nicholas Cage. Renfield’s witty and eccentric with a mysterious past. As Dracula’s familiar, he is immortal and gains super strength and speed when he consumes bugs. As we delve into his enigmatic story, we land in a world of supernatural forces and dark secrets.

The film navigates a crazy journey filled with humour, suspense, blood-splattered gore and the exploration of Renfield's complex persona. But, I thought it all felt a bit… ‘thin’ and anaemic, and very much like a B-movie. Maybe this is what the director had in mind all along? The film did have a few funny moments and I’m sure we have inspiration for many memes after seeing Nicholas Cage in full Dracula makeup. But, besides all the B-movie theatrics, the heads exploding like bombs, the gallons of blood being spilled… the film wasn’t all that. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I current watching the latest season (7) of "Outlander". I love this show! It's on going..
But I recently finished First Season of "1923". Definitely one of the best shows ever! 🙌 It's a lot of American history filled with the Dalton's family challenges as farmers and owners of a huge property, Yellowstone Ranch, in the state of Montana. But not limited to that, the show covers the cruel missionaries trying to civilize the native Indians and a beautiful romantic and dramatic story of hunter Dalton and an English aristocrat that meet and starts in Africa. Many parallel stories connected together. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

1923 is an American Western drama television series that premiered on December 18, 2022,
The series is a prequel to the Paramount Network series Yellowstone and serves as a sequel to the series 1883, with Isabel May reprising her role from the latter as narrator Elsa Dutton. In February 2023, the series was renewed for a second season of eight episodes.

Premise
The series follows a generation of the Dutton family in 1923, during a time of various hardships including Prohibition, drought, and the early crash.

I read many of the Outlander books, but haven't watched the series yet. I'm scared Jamie is not gonna be portrayed the way I imagined him! 1923 is a completely new one to me. Thanks !

Jamie, to me, is a hero and a man that doesn't really exist, but I know what you mean.
1923 is really great!

One of the latest series I have watched is "Black Mirror"

"Black Mirror" is a contemporary reworking of "The Twilight Zone" with stories that tap into the collective unease about the modern world. Each story features its own cast of unique characters, including stars like Bryce Dallas Howard ("The Help"), Alice Eve, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tom Cullen and Jerome Flynn ("Game of Thrones"). Joe Wright, Dan Trachtenberg, and James Watkins are among the featured directors.
Stand-alone dramas that explore techno-paranoia in witty, scary, and sarcastic ways.
Be amazed!

For me, I was watching Love Island (US) just this morning.

It's certainly not a piece of cinematic and or storytelling genius. It's a reality tv show with a lot of hot people pretending or genuinely coming to make a relationship with someone while attempting to win $100,000 dollars. It's not a high brow taste, so if you're someone who only watches "art", you probably won't see the appeal of it.

But, if you're someone who just wants to be entertained, experience predictable and often-times forced drama with some real sprinkled in, and wants to watch something that is easy to follow without requiring their full attention and filled with traditionally attractive people.... Love Island is exactly what you need while you do chores, get ready for the day, or just let your brain relax into a low-stakes, low-effort aesthetic scene of pretty people.

This would be the second to last one I watched, and I enjoyed it! There were storytelling elements that baffled me until they came around at the end again, but overall I quite enjoyed it.

The Man I Married (alternative title I Married a Nazi) is an American 1940 drama film starring Joan Bennett, Francis Lederer, Lloyd Nolan and Anna Sten.

A successful, and yet naive American, art critic Carol Cabbott (Joan Bennett), is married to German Eric Hoffman (Francis Lederer) and have a seven-year-old son, Ricky (Johnny Russell). They travel to pre-war Nazi Germany to visit Eric's father, whom he has not seen for 10 years, although everybody tells them that to do so is foolish. A friend, Dr. Hugo Gerhardt (Ludwig Stossel), asks them to deliver money to, and somehow help his brother, the famous philosopher Ernst Gerhardt, who has been arrested and imprisoned in Dachau...

This movie captures, and explains, accurately the mood in Germany during the run-up to World War II. None of this is mentioned in the history books in school.

Downton Abbey is a British historical drama television series set in the early 20th century, created and co-written by Julian Fellowes. It first aired in the United Kingdom on ITV on 26 September 2010 and in the United States on PBS, which supported its production as part of its Masterpiece Classic anthology, on 9 January 2011. The show ran for six series and fifty-two episodes, including five Christmas specials.

Having grown up in the UK, Downton Abbey is a docu-drama. The story is set against the backdrop of well-documented, historical social change Given the implicit nuances of Britain's class structure, the script is stilted at times as Fellowes attempts to explain "why" to viewers... amusing. Truly a "comedy of manners."
